هدفت الدراسة إلى إجراء عملية مسح موسعة لبحوث ودراسات التربية العلمية التي أجريت في المملكة العربية السعودية خلال السنوات العشر من عام 2000م وحتى نهاية عام 2009م المنشورة بعيّنة مكوّنة من 12 مجلة محلية وإقليمية وعربية تصدر في: المملكة العربية السعودية ومصر، والبحرين والكويت والإمارات العربية المتحدة، حيث تم فحص 487 مجلدا ورقيا وإلكترونيا من أعداد هذه المجلات، نتج عن ذلك حصر عدد 133 بحثا في مجال التربية العلمية، تم تحليلها بواسطة أداة تحليل توجهات البحوث وفق أولوياتها التي شملت ثلاثة محاور رئيسة تضمنت 243 بندا فرعيا، وذلك بهدف تحديد مدى مواكبة تلك الدراسات والبحوث لأولويات مجالات الدراسة في التربية العلمية كما حددتها دراسة مركز التميز لتطوير تعليم العلوم والرياضيات بجامعة الملك سعود. وتوصلت الدراسة للعديد من النتائج، في مقدمتها أن بحوث التربية العلمية بالمملكة العربية السعودية (عينة الدراسة المنشورة بالمجلات خلال فترة العشر سنوات) لم تكن متواكبة مع أولويات الدراسة في هذا المجال، كما أن هذه البحوث المنشورة قد أغفلت الكثير من مجالات الدراسة الرئيسة والفرعية التي تمثل أولوية مهمة لبحوث التربية العلمية بالمملكة العربية السعودية؛ وعلى ضوء نتائجها وضعت الدراسة خريطة بحثية لتوجيه بحوث التربية العلمية بالمملكة العربية السعودية. The study aimed at proceeding an extended research and science education studies have been proceeded in the kingdom of Saudi Arabia in the ten years from 2000 AD until 2009 AD which published in 12 journals of local, regional, and Arabic journals in Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Bahrain, Kuwait, and United Arab Emirate s. where 487 paper and electronic volumes were examined from these magazines which resulted in inventory of 133 research in the field of science education, were analyzed by analysis tool of orientation of research according to priorities, which included three main axes included 243 sub-item and in order to determine the extent to cope with these studies, research, and priority. Areas of study in science education as defined by the study center of excellence for the development of science and mathematics education at king Saud University. These studies have achieved many results, in its forefront the research science education in Saudi Arabia which published in journals during the period of ten years did not parallel with priorities of the studying this area, as these published researches had overlooked many of the main and sub areas of study which represents an important priority for the research of scientific education in Saudi Arabia kingdom.
