هدفت الدراسة إلى التعرف على فعالية برنامج مقترح في التربية الفنية في تنمية الوعي ببعض القضايا المعاصرة وقدرات التفكير الابتكاري لدى تلاميذ المرحلة المتوسطة الإعدادية بالمملكة العربية السعودية، وتكونت عينة الدراسة من 351 تلميذا من تلاميذ الصف الأول من المرحلة المتوسطة (الإعدادية) بمدرسة أنس بن مالك المتوسطة بمدينة مكة المكرمة، ولتحقيق أهداف الدراسة استخدم المنهج شبه التجريبي، وبنيت قائمة بأهم القضايا المعاصرة التي ينبغي أن يكون لدى التلاميذ وعي بها، وتم إقرارها، وأعد البرنامج المقترح في التربية الفنية وتم التأكد من صدقه، وأعدت ثلاثة اختبارات تحصيلية لقياس مدى وعي التلاميذ بالقضايا المعاصرة محل الدراسة وقيس صدقها وثباتها، وأعد مقياس تقدير مستوى قدرات التفكير الابتكاري في أعمال التلاميذ وقيس صدقه وثباته، ولتحليل بيانات الدراسة استخدم الانحراف المعياري، والمتوسط الحسابي، واختبار "ت" T-test، وتوصلت الدراسة إلى وجود فروق دالة إحصائيا عند مستوى 0.01 بين متوسطي درجات تلاميذ المجموعة التجريبية (عينة البحث) في التطبيقين القبلي والبعدي لصالح التطبيق البعدي للاختبارات التحصيلية الثلاثة لقياس مدى وعي التلاميذ بالقضايا المعاصرة محل الدراسة، ووجود فروق دالة إحصائيا عند مستوى 0.01 بين متوسطي درجات تلاميذ المجموعة التجريبية (عينة البحث) في التطبيقين القبلي والبعدي لصالح التطبيق البعدي لمقياس تقدير مستوى قدرات التفكير الابتكاري في أعمال التلاميذ في أبعاده الرئيسية ككل، وفي مقاييسه الفرعية بعد دراسة كل وحدة من وحدات البرامج الثلاث على حدة. وقدمت الدراسة عددا من التوصيات للقائمين على تخطيط مناهج التربية الفنية، في وزارة التربية والتعليم، واقترحت بعض الدراسات ذات الصلة بموضوعها. The study sought to identify the efficacy of a proposed art education program to raise the awareness of intermediate. Stage students in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in respect of some contemporary issues and innovative thinking capacities. The study sample comprised 35 students in the first grade at Annas Bin Malek Intermediate School in the Holy City of Makkah; and to attain the objectives of the study the researcher followed the quasi-experimental method; a list of most important current issues the students should be aware of had been built and approved and the proposed art education program was built and validated. Three achievement tests to gauge the extent of students' awareness of current issues being investigated and whose validity and reliability had been measured were designed; a scale to measure the rating of the students’ level of innovative thinking capacities, and whose validity and reliability had also been verified. In analyzing the data obtained in the study the researcher employed the standard deviation, arithmetic mean, and t-test. The study found that there were statistically significant differences at the level 0.01 between the mean scores of the experimental group students (study sample) in the pre- and post applications in favor of the post application of the three achievement tests intended to measure the extent of the students' awareness of current issues under study; also the existence of statistically significant differences at the level of 0.01 between the mean scores of the experimental group (the research sample) in both pre- and post-applications in behalf of post-application of the scale measuring the rating of the innovative thinking students’ capacity level in connection with the students’ works in its principal dimensions as a whole and in its subscales after studying each of the program's three units separately. The study presented a number of recommendations for officials commissioned to plan art education curricula, at the Ministry of Education, a long with suggesting the conduction of some relevant studies.
