هدفت الدراسة إلى التعرف على معالم النظرية التربوية عند باولو فريري، وأبعاد فكره التربوي؛ رغبة في الاستفادة منه في إحداث مقاربة فكرية بين ما نادى به فريري من جهة، وبين الأمراض المزمنة التي يعاني منها الجسد التعليمي العربي. واعتمدت الدراسة على المنهج الفلسفي لدراسة وتحليل مؤلفات وأعمال باولو فريري. وخلصت الدراسة إلى وجود العديد من الممارسات السلبية التي يعاني منها النظام التعليمي العربي، والتي في مجملها تقتل الإبداع، وتكرس القهر والتسلط والتقليد. وفي سبيل مواجهة تلك الأوضاع أوصت الدراسة بضرورة قيام العلاقات بين الأفراد داخل المدرسة وغيرها من مؤسسات التنشئة الاجتماعية على أسس التفاهم والتحاور والاحترام المتبادل، بعيدا عن القهر والعنف، والتركيز على استخدام أساليب الثواب والمكافأة والتشجيع والتعزيز في التنشئة الاجتماعية، وإشاعة جو من الأمن والحرية في المجتمع ومؤسساته، وتحقيق الإصلاح السياسي عبر إنجاز المشاركة الاجتماعية الواسعة في عملية اتخاذ القرارات السياسية، وصيانة الحقوق والحريات السياسية، ومراعاة البعد الإنساني عند التعامل مع الطلاب، وجعل الهدف من العملية التعليمية أن تكون أداة لفهم الواقع والوعي بمشكلاته، وليس لاستظهار المحتوى الدراسي. The study aimed to explore the aspects of the educational theory of Paulo Freire, and his educational thought. It is an attempt to benefit from comparing the intellectual approach by Freire, on the one hand, and between chronic diseases suffered by the Arab education. The study relied on a philosophical approach and the analysis of the work of Paulo Freire. The study concluded that there are many negative practices affecting the Arab education system, which on the whole hinder creativity, and increase oppression and domination and tradition. In order to face these conditions, the study recommended highlighting the relations between individuals within the school, from one hand, and other institutions of socialization the other. Such relations should be established on the basis of mutual understanding, dialogue, and mutual respect and without oppression and violence. In addition, it is important to focus on the use of methods of reward and encouragement in socialization. Moreover, it is necessary to create an atmosphere of security and freedom in society and its institutions, and to establish the political reform through the completion of social participation in the process of political decision-making, and through the maintenance of the rights and political freedoms. It is also recommended to take into account the human dimension when dealing with students and to set the goal of the educational process as a tool to understand the reality and awareness of its problems, not memorizing the course content.
